Write a clear work request

On this page

A useful request gives the agent a concrete result to work toward. It also explains which information matters and where its authority ends. Use the request channel configured for your deployment.

Start with the deliverable#

Name the output and its audience. A review brief, a draft response, and an approved system update have different acceptance criteria. Include the period or deadline when it changes what should be considered.

For example, ask for “an internal renewal review for the account owner, covering commitments due this quarter” rather than “look into the account.”

Provide context and boundaries#

Identify the relevant account, case, or other record using an approved reference. Point to the source of truth where you know it. Explain the decision the output will support and any constraints that matter.

State whether the request is to analyze, draft, or take an already authorized action. A request does not grant additional system permissions or override your organization's review requirements. Use the approved access process when necessary information is unavailable.

An example request#

Prepare an internal renewal review for the account identified in the approved case record. Use the current contract and account notes to list upcoming commitments, unresolved issues, and missing information. Link each finding to its source. Separate confirmed facts from assumptions. Draft recommended next steps for the account owner; do not send customer messages or update the contract.

This example establishes an audience, sources, expected structure, and action boundary. Adapt the references to the information your deployment is authorized to use.

Refine the request#

If the output is too broad, identify the section that needs work and give a specific correction. If a fact is wrong, provide the authoritative reference and explain the discrepancy. Avoid asking the agent to guess missing values.

A follow-up might say: “Use the signed amendment for the renewal date. Keep the original contract as background and identify which commitment changed.” Review the revised result using Review outputs and sources.
